Tl;dr:
Hi, I’m Wojciech Majda. I have hypothyroidism, and I was a tired underachiever. Then I discovered natural desiccated thyroid. I got happy and healthy—the end.
Long version:
Hi,
My name is Wojciech Majda (I’m Polish, where the funny name and grammar come from). Welcome to my website about… Thyroid and Metabolism!
Why did I decide to start a website about metabolism and thyroid?
I always was a sickly child. When I was 16 years old, I remember that I went to a public healthcare doctor, and I said that:
I think something is wrong with me because I have a low energy level, I have to sleep a lot, and I still almost fall asleep at school. It wasn’t that I was bored (though Latin classes with a teacher that worked at the library weren’t helping); I was physically struggling with staying awake.
The doctor ran a blood and urine test, and he said that:
“According to blood and urine test, everything was fine with me, and I’m too young to prescribe me something for energy. Goodbye. Next patient, please!”
On the one hand, I appreciate that I don’t live in the USA because I would probably be prescribed some “speed” (Adderal, a.k.a amphetamine). But still, my health was not getting any better. I’ve experimented with many “diets” (paleo, vegetarian, etc.). Removing gluten and vegetable oils did help somehow, but that was nothing to write home about.
Although I had a healthy lifestyle at the age of 26-27, I already had low testosterone levels. A few years later, when I moved to Thailand, when I went to the pharmacy to buy testosterone for my TRT+ (Testosterone Replacement Therapy Plus), I was given a catalog of different performance-enhancing drugs. One of them was Cytomel – synthetic T3 (active thyroid hormone). As I had a bit of “love handles” (fat around the lower back), I decided (after consultation with a pharmacist) to buy some to help my weight loss. The tablets came in 100 mcg doses.
I’ve started to Google how to use this medicine. That’s how I found the Stop The Thyroid Madness website and the information that low body temperature was a sign of hypothyroidism. So I bought a thermometer. My temp, measured multiple times, was usually around 35.5-35.7*C (95.9- 96.3*F). I even checked on my friend, is the thermometer working correctly – she was 36.8*C (98.2*F)! The thermometer wasn’t damaged, but my metabolism was!
That’s me before thyroid replacement. Kneeling saves energy!
So one morning, I took about 12.5 mcg of T3… Literally, after a few minutes, my life has changed! It was like I woke up without a 27-year-old hangover…
Then an internet friend with thyroid issues told me that Thailand produces one of the world’s best NDT (Natural Desiccated Thyroid) products! So I bought some Thyroid-S (a few months ago, I switched to Thiroyd, then TR Thyroid, also called T.Man Thyroid). Now I am on The Real Thyroid.
Rest is history, as they say; I noticed that many people have problems with hypothyroidism; that’s why I decided to share my path to health. I also understand how difficult it is to get a good NDT product.
My hobbies include history, gardening, weightlifting, permaculture, and aikido.
