NP Thyroid Reviews & Ratings: 15 Honest opinions

If you’re one of the millions of Americans struggling with a thyroid disorder, you might be considering NP Thyroid as a treatment option.

But is NP Thyroid any good? In this article, we’ll take a look at NP Thyroid reviews and ratings to see what patients are saying about this popular thyroid medication. We’ll also discuss the potential side effects of NP Thyroid and whether it’s an effective treatment for thyroid disorders and hormone imbalances.

What is NP Thyroid?

NP Thyroid is a prescription medication that is used to treat an underactive thyroid, a thyroid disease that occurs when the thyroid gland doesn’t produce enough of the two thyroid hormones: thyroxine and triiodothyronine.

NP Thyroid medication is made of a pigs thyroid glands (thyroid extract) and is consider by American Thyroid Association as a second choice therapy to treat hypothyroidism.

This medication is typically taken once a day, and it should be taken on an empty stomach. NP Thyroid is just one of many options available to thyroid patients, other being Armour Thyroid or VitaliThy and it may not be suitable for everyone. However, for those who do respond well to this medication, it can be an effective treatment option.

Who makes NP Thyroid? Acella Pharmaceuticals manufactures NP Thyroid. Acella is a young company that only started operating in 2007.

Np Thyroid Reviews and Rankings

Doesn’t even deserve a 0. If you are considering taking NP thyroid, I urge you to reconsider. It is not a TERRIBLE choice. The quality of NP Thyroid has deteriorated since the fall of 2019 and there has been no improvement since then.

This product is being recalled frequently. Recently, in late April 2021, it was recalled for having a lower potency than usual. Can you please search for it? You have been warned! Acella can’t get it right and it’s not a reliable option. Go with the brand name Armor Thyroid instead (it’s literally the only one left that isn’t horrible) or get a prescription for two synthetics (Tirosint/Tirosint-SOL being the cleanest T4) along with T3 (Cytomel/liothyronine, or compound T3 and T4) to achieve hormonal balance. If Nature-Throid or WP Thyroid is back on the market, try one of these.

I’m a 36-year-old male who has been through a lot of trial and error in figuring out my thyroid issue. I’ve tried taking T4 and T3 from Latin American and Asian sources, as well as all the known ones from US-based labs.

I have to say, I take np thyroid 90 in the morning and I feel amazing. It definitely works for my low thyroid. For those of you who know how it feels when your thyroid isn’t working right, I can say that once you find the right dose of np thyroid, it is the best. I take it sublingually and it tastes great.

In addition to taking np thyroid, I also follow an intermittent fasting and ketogenic diet, and my life has changed for the better. I just wanted to let you all know that np thyroid is a good product. Don’t give up. I know it’s been tough for me, but I think I’ve finally figured it out. Love all.

I’ve been on Nature-throid for years. When NatureThroid no longer made products, I was switched to NP Thyroid.

I thought I was going crazy. I was terribly depressed and scared all the time from waking up and going to bed. Every day was a battle against constant panic attacks.

My heart was always racing. I called my doctor, who then prescribed antidepressants. I couldn’t take them, so I stopped. They also gave me some bad side effects. I started to wonder what might be wrong with me because I’m normally not depressed and an extremely happy person.

I ended up in the ER, and they switched me to armor. Since the first day of switching, my anxiety is almost gone. I haven’t had one panic attack in a while, and I’m not depressed anymore either.I don’t know what’s in this medication, but it wasn’t good. I wouldn’t take it again even if it were the only option. Don’t take this medication if you can avoid it! The most horrible experience of my life!

NP Thyroid is made from a pig’s thyroid gland, which I was unaware of. I am highly allergic to PORK and was taking this product for 10 months, but I started to experience severe sweating, headaches, and a Rapid Heart Rate of 159.

This sent me twice to the ER. They thought I was having a heart attack but it was a severe allergic reaction to pork. Stay away from this product. My naturopathic doctor put me on this medication even though I’m highly allergic to pork. They certainly didn’t do the research on this.

Your doctor has prescribed you 60 mg of synthetic thyroid hormone, NP. This medication is meant to help regulate your thyroid function. On the first few days after I arrived, my blood pressure was normal. But on day 4, it started rising very high and I was barely able to walk. I also had a migraine headache and other hypo symptoms. I called my doctor and told them that I was experiencing the same effects from my previous dose as before, so I lowered it to 30 mg. After 3 days, I started experiencing the same problems again. Do not take this medication if you are allergic to it or if you have a history of kidney problems. Something is definitely not right. Np Thyroid smells horrible (like cat pee).

After moving to a naturopath doctor to help with my Hashimotos, I switched to another brand. I don’t think there’s a lot of evidence that Thyroid NP is the best option for you. For the past two years, I have had stomach burning. It was an ulcer, to the point that I thought it was stomach cancer. Absolutely zero energy, sore feet, weight gain and my brain is very cloudy these days..it’s been 3 days since I’ve been off and I’m already feeling the difference. I left my naturopath and went back to my regular doctor for my Synthroid. I only recently realized the connection between the events. This product has had three recalls in the last year, and that’s not good.

Stopped responding to Synthroid and other synthetic thyroid meds after a few years and the dose was pushed up to the point where it made me hyperthyroid – and many life stressors immediately became clinically hyperthyroid.

I was experiencing intense anxiety and mania during the early morning hours. After taking a lot of diazepam to return to a baseline of rational thought, I was finally able to get some rest.

Switched to NP 60 and feel good after 6 weeks.I’m less stressed, more energy, less joint pain, a lot less back pain, more focused (less brain fog), a bit lethargic, but I’m a great procrastinator.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to managing endocrine diseases, as they can be difficult to stabilize. I have multiple autoimmune diseases and chronic migraines.

NP is still in its early days. My last labs showed that I was hypo (3 weeks off Tirosint and prior to starting NP). I’ll check with the labs to see what they say, but so far everything looks good.

All comments are anecdotal and not empirical. Make sure your medication choices are based on what you and your doctor believe is best for you, not someone else.

I was taking Nature-Throid for many years and it worked well for me. I switched to NP Thyroid after Nature Thyroid became unavailable. At first, I was doing well in the past few months. But now it has become a living nightmare. My labs go up and down with each new refill. My blood work came back high after I got my new refill.

I went to get my lab work done, and in two weeks’ time, my lab results had gone from normal levels to far above the normal range. I’m done with this medicine and will switch to Armor Thyroid. This medication should not be marketed because it is dangerous.

Last week, my pharmacy gave me a prescription for NP thyroid instead of the regular Armour thyroid. At first, I noticed the strong smell and taste of cat urine.

I checked the label on my recipe and noticed that this is not Armor. A week after taking it, I noticed that my body ached, I had a horrible pseudo gout attack and my heart was pounding. My heart started racing and I felt jittery.

My hands and knees were shaking and I felt weak. I had a headache, panic attacks and brain fog. I spoke with my pharmacist, who replaced the medication I was using with my regular Armour. After investigating this medication, I found that it has been recalled multiple times and my symptoms are similar to those of other people. Do not take this medicine. It’s terrible.

I was switched to a NP thyroid after Naturethroid was recalled. I was doing really well on the Naturethroid, but I tried to be positive about NP too. . .
It smells and tastes disgusting.

I have noticed unexplained pain in my hip, persistent indigestion, upset stomach, random diarrhea. 7 months later and my T3 is off the chart, T4 and TSH are super low, basically hyperthyroidism.Over the past month I have developed horrible anxiety, random and uncontrolled crying, trouble sleeping and fatigue.

I barely recognize myself these days. I had a complete breakdown during an exam. My professor was pissed off and thought I was somehow incompetent, but I had no idea what was going on. I’m struggling with insurance to get armor, but I can’t keep using NP. My Armour-like drug already smells better than the normal one. I’m praying this works because IDK what if it doesn’t

Please be careful with this medication. It can be harmful if not used correctly. I barely put it together this morning. I was on NatureThroid for a while. I lost weight but was very nervous. So my doctor changed me to NP thyroid.

For the past three months, I’ve been gaining a little weight and feeling a bit tired in the afternoon.I didn’t think anything of it until I got my prescription refilled last month and then realized something was wrong.

I woke up to my body buzzing slightly. My anxiety kicked up a notch, making my ears buzz and making it hard to focus. I also had trouble sleeping, staying asleep for more than a few hours at a time. I would always wake up at 12:25 every night feeling really ho, like I had a hot flash.

I couldn’t go back to sleep. I was a zombie for a while, and I took myself off of this stuff so I can slowly recover. It messed with my adrenals, so I’m taking it slow. Your thyroid and adrenals are connected, which means they work together to help regulate your body’s stress response. Waiting for the blood test results to see what to do next.

I’ve been on Nature Throid for years and it felt great. My doctor switched me to a new doctor after the recall of my Nature-Throid. At first I felt fine and now the symptoms are appearing. Sore arms, depression, constipation, brain fog, weight gain, puffy skin, and fatigue are all common symptoms of being sick.

This medicine isn’t always consistent, and it has a strong urine-like smell and taste. Plus, it doesn’t seem to work the way it’s supposed to for people who take it for pharmaceutical reasons. It’s not right. This stuff is not good.

Hello! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s about a year and a half ago, and it took a while to find the right dosage. I’m finally there, after being switched from WP Thyroid to a comparable dose of NP thyroid. Ever since I started this a few days ago I have had a constant headache. Have any other people had this problem? Does it usually go away with time, or should I call my doctor about it? Thanks

The conclusion: is NP Thyroid any good?

The generic version of NP Thyroid is Thyroid (desiccated) made by compounding pharmacies.

The reviews are in, and it seems that NP Thyroid is not the best option when it comes to natural desiccated thyroid (NDT) options. There are other, more effective options available such as Armour Thyroid. If you are looking for a cheap and effective Natural desiccated Thyroid that you can buy online, consider VitaliThy.
